Kit Karsen was born in Denmark, but she spent most of her childhood in a small town in Michigan, near the Canadian border. Growing up on the edge of a forest, Kit loved exploring the woods, finding quiet spots along streams, and spending her summer days reading outside. Her love for stories began at an early age, especially through the tales shared by her grandmother, who introduced her to magical stories like “The Little Mermaid” and other shapeshifter legends.

Every winter, Kit’s family returned to Denmark to visit relatives, where her imagination was fueled by tales of Selkies—mythical creatures that could transform into humans. These stories inspired Kit’s love for the idea of changing shapes and exploring new worlds.

Kit’s journey through school and college was filled with the usual ups and downs, but her love for storytelling never faded. Now, she lives in Florida, near the City of Mermaids, where she continues to dream up exciting stories filled with magic, love, and adventure. Kit’s passion for creating captivating tales shines through in her writing, making her books a fun escape into enchanting worlds.
